Purim begins tonight!

An easy fast if you're fasting on the Fast of Esther that we discussed on Monday, but regardless, settle in for some (slightly distracting, if you're fasting– sorry–) storytime:

It's 1946. World War II has ended, and in the wake of Hitler's atrocities, morale for Jewish students on University of Chicago campus was low. A chance meeting on a street corner by three campus faculty/staff– Rabbi Maurice Pekarsky, historian Louis Gottschalk, and anthropologist Sol Tax– led to the creation of what has become a now 78-year institution not only at U of C, but far beyond:
